How do students know if Scotts Valley High School is a good fit? For those who are not currently attending an SVUSD school and are seriously considering attending Scotts Valley High School, a shadow day is an ideal way to find out. We welcome current 8th -11th grade students to experience a day in the life of a Scotts Valley Falcon. Your student will be paired with a Student Ambassador currently enrolled in our school program and has similar interests. Guest students will attend classes with their Student Ambassador, meet with other Scotts Valley High School students, and enjoy a provided lunch.

This school year there will be two shadow dates to choose from.* Guest Students will attend a full day of classes beginning at 8:30am and ending at 3:40pm.

• Monday, March 11th, 2024

Advanced registration is required to reserve your student’s preferred shadow date and space is limited. Please click the link to register online on the Student Shadow Registration Link. Registered students will receive a confirmation email the week prior. Registration closes March 6th for the March 11th date.

All guest shadow students are under the supervision of the Scotts Valley High School Administration for the duration of their visit and will be required to follow all school and classroom rules as well as our current dress code.

Guest Pass – All guest shadow students are required to wear a guest pass for the duration of their visit on our campus. Students will receive their guest pass upon check-in

Lunch – All guest shadow students are treated to a pizza lunch on their Shadow Day! Students who have specific dietary needs will need to provide their own lunch and/or purchase food items from our “Falcon Feeder” lunch room.

Requesting Hosts – Guest shadow students may request a current Scotts Valley High School student to host them for their shadow visit. While we will do our best to honor each request, it is not a guarantee. Guests are not permitted to shadow with a sibling currently attending SVHS.

We are pleased to announce the return of our Student Ambassador Program (SAP).  We are looking for students who represent our RIC values and school spirit and be responsible for hosting a Guest Student on the day of the Shadow Event. 
Ambassadors will be matched depending on similar interests and on the number of Guest sign-ups for the event. If you are interested, fill out the Google Form below.

SVHS encourages families to join us for our Open House and Expo Night in February.  There will be a lot of information presented and classrooms will be open for visiting.  This is a great opportunity to get a feel for SVHS before registering for a shadow day.
