As a hub of knowledge and celebrator of diversity, the Scotts Valley High School Library serves SVHS students and teachers in their research needs, and actively supports intellectual freedom and reading for fun! The library offers a selection of nearly 9,000 fiction, nonfiction, and reference materials, as well as popular magazines, and more! The library continues to build and improve upon its collection to meet the information demands of the 21st century learners and educators it serves. Above all, the library supports education and collaboration, and welcomes new ideas and feedback from the SVHS community and library volunteers.
Thank you to Scotts Valley Educational Foundation!
Did you know that Scotts Valley High School Library is fully supported by the Scotts Valley Educational Foundation? Through generous community donations to the SVEF, our library has remained open and staffed through challenging economic times.
Even when the library is closed, students and faculty can still access the SVHS library catalog and electronic research database!
Through a generous donation from our Parent Club, the SVHS library now proudly subscribes to JSTOR research database, a premium research database found on both high school and college campuses throughout the country. This database can be accessed on and off campus by visiting JSTOR research database. Please contact our librarian for the password. In addition, our library’s online catalog can provide instant access to the library's collection of fiction, non-fiction, and reference titles.
In an effort to meet the needs of the students and staff at SVHS, the Scotts Valley High Library maintains a public wish list on Amazon titled SVHS Library Wishlist.
That wish list is constantly updated based on student requests and library needs. Families can purchase donations right off that wish list and have the items shipped to the library. For donation confirmation please call or email the librarian.
We always encourage community members to contribute to the Bookshop Santa Cruz Holiday Book Drive. This is a wonderful way for parents to help SVHS increase its collection with new, exciting, and high-interest reading material for our students. Donating to the Holiday Book Drive not only supports independent bookstores and our local economy, but it is a way of saying thank you to the monumental support Bookshop SC provides to our public libraries and students.
Thank you for your support!
