SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS

California Honor Roll 2015

SVHS was selected by the Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and the Campaign for Business and Education Excellance (CBEE) as one of 1,714 public schools in California to receive the title of 2015 Honor Roll school. The Honor Roll is part of a national effort to identify higher-performing schools and highlight successful practices that improve outcomes for students. Schools receiving this distinction from leaders in California academic and business communities have demonstrated consistent high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement levels over time, and reduction in achievement gaps among student populations.

Gold Ribbon School 2015

SVHS received the honor of being named a California Gold Ribbon High School. Only 350 California high school and middle schools receive this award and are very proud of the honor. We received this The California Department of Education Gold Ribbon Award by reporting exemplary practices in supporting students for challenging themselves to take advanced level courses. About 80% of our juniors and seniors take at least one or more IB courses.

SVHS, A California Distinguished School

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson names 218 public middle and high schools California Distinguished Schools for their strong commitment and innovative approaches to improving student academic achievement.

Newsweek ~ America's Top High Schools 2016

Scotts Valley High School was named by Newsweek as one of America's Top High Schools for 2016. SVHS is ranked #245 out of a list of the 500 top high schools in the nation.

Report ~ Ranks SVHS a Silver Medal Winner

Scotts Valley High School was awarded a Silver Medal by US News and World Report in their Best High Schools report. We rank 198th within California and a National rank of #1159.
