It is very important that your child comes to school each day with a hearty, healthy snack and lunch. Foods high in sugar are not recommended, as children burn this energy too quickly. In addition, please make sure your child knows which food to eat for a snack to prevent them from eating all of their lunch at snack time. It’s also good to note that on Thursdays, our school block following snack time is much longer, and the children tend to get very hungry if they don’t eat enough healthy food at snack recess.
If your child is having school lunch, please remind them in the morning that they need to order a hot lunch with their teacher. Students will still need to bring a snack from home on days they order a hot lunch, or they will need to purchase a school snack as well.
Please send your child to school with a water bottle to keep in class and refill. Staying well-hydrated is very important for brain function! Additionally, as the weather gets warmer, please apply sunscreen to your child before school to help protect their skin during outdoor activities.
