2019 Summer Programs:


Courses offered: Medicine, Law, Business, Engineering, English, Politics, Robotics, Coding, Creative Writing, Psychology, Philosophy and more! Join students from over 135 nations and enjoy an inspirational cultural enrichment program. In addition to your class, you will have cultural activities such as excursions to London, Theater trips, Museums, Musicals, Guest lectures and more!

June, July & August.  2 or 4 weeks programs offered.  Ages 8-25.



UC Davis Young Scholars Program

Participants will work one-on-one with research faculty and research groups in state of the art laboratories for six weeks. Each student will work on an individual project and prepare a journal quality paper and symposium presentation about their work. At the same time, each student will experience the climate and culture of living and working on a university campus.

June 23 - August 3. 

Applications accepted 12/1 - 3/16. $25 application fee

Explore. Experience. Prepare.  Ready to get a jumpstart on college this summer?  Come experience Tufts summer writing program, foundations of law & ethics, health science honors, bioinformatics inquiry through sequencing and college courses for seniors.



West Point

Try a week full of informative and fun activities that better acquaint attendees with cadet life.  Session is during the month of June.  It is highly competitive to get in for this program.  Each year they receive 6000 applicants but only take 1000.



Grammy Camp

With its expert faculty, state-of-the-art  facilities and unique curriculum that emphasizes artistry, technology and entrepreneurship, McNally Smith has helped students make and sustain lives in the music and audio industries for nearly 30 years.  Create, record, perform and promote new music projects while learning from industry experts.  Financial assistance is available.  Deadline to apply is March 31, 2015



Johns Hopkins- Center for Talented Youth

Johns Hopkins is offering several summer opportunities ranging from poetry, talent search and writing to science, politics and math.




For 3 non-stop days learn from FIDM instructors, Collaborate on creative projects, meet industry professionals, express your style, get inspired by successful FIDM grads, practice fashion draping, learn fashion sketching, draw new shoe designs, discover the art of trend spotting and so much more!  Sessions offered at Orange County 6/22-24, San Francisco 6/23-25, Los Angeles 6/25-27, San Diego 6/29-7/1.  Each session is $300.




Programs designed for 8th-12th graders  Whatever your interests are, you will find a unique set of life changing experiences at WorldStrides. Programs include attending Oxford, Cambridge, Columbia, or UCLA.  If community service is more your passion, there is service work in El Salvador, Hawaii or Costa Rica. There are also immersion language programs in France and Spain.


University of Washington

The Game Experience!  Come to Seattle to learn about the fundamentals of video game design, get behind the scenes access to some of the most exciting game studios in the world.  Camp is 21 days and is for students entering 10th through 12 grade fall of 2015.  Deadline to register is 6/1.  Last year was a truly international experience with campers arriving from the US, Canada, Hong Kong, Germany, Japan and China.



Boston University: Investigative Journalism Workshop

The New England Center for Investigative Reporting based at Boston University's College of Communication is offering a unique summer workshop.  Three two-week workshops are offered beginning June 29th.  Students participate in seminars and work alongside BU faculty and award-winning local and national journalists on investigative stories that could be published on the centers website or in regional and national publications.  Students will live on campus and gain hands on experience.  Applicants who apply by January 31, 2015 will receive a $100 discount on tuition.



ID Tech

Camps for students ages 6-18.  Both day and overnight camps at over 100+ campuses.  Offer camps specializing in programming, game design and robotics.



UC Berkeley embARC

embARC is an intensive four week summer design academy for rising junior and senior high school students.  Students will study architecture, urban design and sustainable city planning through lectures, field trips and a design build.  Program runs from  7/6 - 7/31/15.



Washington University in St. Louis

Prepare for college success, summer programs for Middle and High School Students.  Programs include, Pre-Medical, Engineering,  Environmental, Writing, Ancient Discovery, Global Leadership and a Young Leaders Institute.




Savanna College of Art and Design is offering 2 summer programs this year:

Summer Seminars: Offers workshops for high school students who have completed at least their freshman year.  Students gain valuable educational experience while develping their creative vision through exciting art and design assignments and projects.  Seminars are one week and held at both their Atlanta and Savannah campus.


Rising Star: This workshop is a challenging program that awards university credit to rising high school seniors who are ready for a pre-college summer experience.  Students enroll  in two college-level classes and have the opportunity to build or enhance their visual arts portfolios.  All courses are taught by SCAD professors; maximum class size is 20 students.  Program runs for 5 weeks and is held at their Atlanta, Hong Kong, and Savannah campuses.



Northfield Mount Hermon

Summer sessions for both middle and high school aged students.  Credit or enrichment courses offered.  Select one major course for morning session plus one minor course and a sport for afternoon.



Smith College

Summer programs for academically talented girls entering grades 9, 10, 11 & 12 in fall of 2015. Program runs from July 5th to August 1st.

"California State Summer School for the Arts" is a four week summer program for talented and motivated high school students in California and beyond.  It is four weeks of total creative immersion.  Program runs 7/11-8/7/2015.  Application must be postmarked by February 28, 2015



Foundation for Teaching Economics Summer Program

This program runs all summer on various US campuses.  For the weeks of 6/28/15 and 7/10/15 the programs are run in California at Berkely and UCLA respectively.  This program is meant for students entering their junior and senior year.  



Adelphi University

July 19 - August 1, 2015. Earn 3 college credits in Nursing, Business, Game Programming, Psychology, or Musical Theatre and Acting. For students entering their junior and senior years



Telluride Association Summer Program (TASP)

TASP is a free opportunity for bright, motivated high school juniors (rising seniors) to participate in a challenging sex-week college-level seminar while living in a diverse, reflective, self-governing intellectual community with similarly motivated peers.  TASP's are offered each summer in partnership with such institutions as Cornell University and the University of Michigan.



The Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP)
Eight week summer research opportunities at a participating ONR laboratory. Stipends $3,800 for new students and $3,800 for returning students. Must be 16 years of age or older. Application open in October - close in January.


A Great Books Summer Institute for High School Students at Saint Mary's College of California

For a week or two, as residents or as commuters, students engage great books in seminar discussion, laboratory and field work, and tutorial analysis, under the direction of the Integral Curriculum’s regular faculty. Each week-long session also includes a day trip to cultural offerings in the San Francisco Bay Area—for example, in Summer 2012 students saw the Cal Shakespeare Theater’s production of Shakespeare’s Tempest and visited the Legion of Honor Museum.



Chapman University - Dodge College of Film and Media Arts
Comprehensive, collaborative and creative high school film program that puts students at the center of the filmmaking process. For two weeks students learn the basic tools of the trade from distinguished Dodge College faculty and current students, understanding what it takes to tell a great story and applying that knowledge to the creation of a short film project.

Stanford Medical Youth Science Program - SMYSP
The Stanford Medical Youth Science Program is looking for economically disadvantaged and under-represented sophomore and junior high school students who are academically oriented, mature and inquisitive, interested in science, health and medicine careers, and are going to be the first in their family to attend a college or university. The program is a five week Summer Residential Program held at Stanford University.


Arthritis Foundation - Summer Science Internship Program
UCSF and Stanford University. Basic Laboratory Research, Clinical Translational Research, and Clinical Epidemiology Research.


Saint Mary's College - Summer Math Camp
A residential summer math camp for mathematically gifted high-school students. For high school sophomores and juniors.


Global Leadership Adventures
Global Leadership Adventures offers teen volunteer summer programs.  Programs are open to students from all over the world between the ages of 15 and 18.


Cornell University Summer College Programs for High School Students

Cornell offers both 3 and 6 week summer courses.  Online options are also available.  Program options range from fashion design, architecture, business, engineering, and hotel management to medicine, veterinary medicine and psychology.


Pacific Northwest College of Art Pre-College Summer Studios
Spend your summer creating, making and learning art in Portland. The Pre-College Studios culminates with a public show of student artwork and every student leaves with a digital portfolio created during the program. Scholarships available.

Yosemite Institute Summer Field Research Course
Enrichment opportunity for students entering 11th and 12th grade. Two week backbacking adventure in the wilderness of Yosemite National Park. Participants earn college credit by completing an ecological research project.


Boston University PROMYS
Program in Mathematic for Young Scientists
Intensive six week residential experience in creative mathematical exploration to approximatley 65 ambitious high school students with an exceptionally strong interest in mathematics.


Oxford Advanced Studies Program - Summer Course
A summer study program which takes place in the setting of Oxford. Challenging academic courses taught by experienced British graduate teachers. Academic curriculum in a range of subjects, with stimulating small-group seminars complemented by weekly one-to-one tutorials.

Abbey Road

Boston University High School Programs
Choose one of five programs: High School Honors, Research Internships, Summer Challenge, Summer Preview or Academic Immersion.

High School Honors is a 6 week residential program in which students take 2 Boston University undergraduate courses and earn up to eight transferable college credits.  Students must be entering their junior or senior year of high school in fall 2015.

Research Internship in Science and Engineering (RISE) is a six week non-credit residential or commuter program in which students conduct scientific research in a University lab under the guidance of a faculty mentor.  Students must be entering their senior year of high school in fall 2015.

Academic Immersion (AIM) is a six week non-credit residential program that allows students to focus intensively on one subject.  Topic for 2015: Introduction to Medicine.  Students must be entering their junior or senior year of high school in fall 2015.

Summer Challenge is a two week residential program in which students take two non-credit seminars of their choice and experience life on a college campus.  Students must be entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of high school in fall 2015.

Summer Preview is a one week non-credit commuter or residential program in which students explore one subject of interest while previewing the college experience.  Students must be entering their freshman or sophomore year of high school in fall 2015.

UC Davis School of Education Young Scholars Program
Summer Opportunities for High Achieving Students
The UC Davis Young Scholars Program is a summer residential research program designed to expose 40, high achieving high school sophomores and juniors to the world of original research in the natural sciences with emphases on the biological, environmental and agricultural sciences. Website


(Minority Introduction to Engineering and Science) at MIT
MITES is a challenging 6 week summer program that prepares promising   rising seniors for careers in engineering and science. The Summer Journalism Program is designed for low-income sophomores or juniors with at least a 3.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) who   have an interest in journalism. The cost is free including travel costs to and from Princeton! For more information, go to Website


Pages have been serving the House of Representatives for nearly two hundred years. Working as a team, Pages assist Members with their legislative duties, deliver correspondence and small packages within the congressional complex, answer phones in the Member cloakrooms, and prepare the House Floor for sessions.  High school juniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in core academic subjects may apply to work as Pages in the U.S. House of Representatives for a fall or spring appointment. There is no GPA requirement for Pages who work during the summer semester. Website


The UCLA Summer Research Program for high school students offers hands-on research experience working in an engineering laboratory of a distinguished UCLA faculty member. Each participant is matched with a faculty mentor and works as a member of that faculty mentor’s research group for eight summer weeks. Participants will attend weekly workshops/presentations conducted by faculty and staff during a catered lunch, which will expose participants to the various engineering departments at UCLA. High school participants also learn to translate their research data into the constructs of a scientific poster, which is presented on the final day of the program.  Website


Oxbridge Academic Program

Our programs are designed to give young people the opportunity to live and study in the historic and scholarly centers of Oxford, Cambridge, Paris, Montpellier, Barcelona, Salamanca, and New York.  We are delighted this year to add St. Andrews and UCLA to our program.



Goals: To bring mathematically talented and motivated high-school students from across the United States, and from around the world, to Stanford university for four weeks of serious mathematical pursuits. Website



At High School Summer College, students ages 16-19 choose from more than 145 college courses in 30 academic departments, earning Stanford undergraduate course credit and an official Stanford University transcript.  Students in the residential and the commuting Summer College programs create their own course schedules and experience what life is like as undergraduate students at Stanford.


At Summer Humanities Institute at Stanford, students currently in 10th and 11th grade explore the big questions at the heart of the humanities in seminars led by distinguished Stanford professors.  Students spend the first two weeks intensively studying and researching a topic in history or philosophy, attending daily lectures by the faculty members, and participating in group discussions and activities in the afternoon.  During their third week, students work closely with their professors, graduate students and writing mentors to produce original research projects.


At the Stanford Youth Orchestra, students in 8th-12th grade participate in a three week intensive orchestral and academic program.  Bringing together world renowned faculty and instructors, the Stanford Youth Orchestra provides participants with exceptional training in the new state-of-the-art Bing Concert Hall, and includes academic workshops in composition, music theory, musicology and technology.

Creative Writing Institute - UC Berkeley 
Emerging Writers Institute creative writing camp is a two-week summer writing program for teens. Rising 10th-12th graders experience a unique curriculum designed to develop and support students’ imaginative writing across literary genres. This creative writing summer program encourages students to challenge themselves technically and artistically through guided daily writing workshops, one-on-one instructor evaluations, group editing sessions, and creative presentations of their work.
